Nothing is more important than the safety of employees, contractors and neighbors. Our goal is nobody gets hurt.

Kearl will only be considered successful when everyone who works on-site goes home safely to family and friends at the end of his or her shift. Safety truly is Kearl’s top priority.

All Kearl workers go through rigorous training, related to both site risks and the specific hazards associated with individual roles. Supervision is on-site to ensure workers are ready to work safely, every day.

Kearl has a developed emergency response plan (ERP) that is tested regularly. This plan is supported through ongoing contact with nearby communities and other operators to keep lines of communication open. Kearl welcomes a two-way dialogue where the company and the community can address emergency preparedness together. In the unlikely event of an emergency, the Kearl project team knows who its neighours are and how to protect them.
