Orphan Basin

Imperial also holds exploration interests off the coasts of both Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. Our current focus is on the Orphan Basin, a deep-water exploration opportunity off the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. Imperial holds a 15 percent interest as a co-venturer in the Orphan exploration blocks.

We remain committed to well control, safety and environmental protection in this deep-water area.  We are continuing to work with the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board and other regulators and communities in Atlantic Canada to achieve these goals.
