The Selection Process
Imperial Oil follows a specific process
in selecting new Esso Retailers:

You complete an Information/Application Form and fax or mail it to Esso along
with your credit history report, criminal background check, credit card
authorization, and list of references.

You are contacted for a 10-minute interview over the telephone.

If you meet our minimum selection criteria, we then process a $100 (plus
applicable taxes) Processing Fee payable by credit card.

You will then participate in 30 – 45 minute interview over the telephone, and
may qualify for a face-to-face interview with a local Esso Recruitment Team
member.

Candidates endorsed by the Esso Recruitment Team are placed in a ‘bank’ of
candidates until a suitable business opportunity becomes available that
matches your financial investment ability, your financial return objective,
and your location preference.

Time from placement in the “bank” to being offered a site varies. It could be
a matter of weeks or it may take from several months to a year or more.

When an opportunity becomes available, you are contacted by an Imperial Oil
Territory Manager to discuss an offer in detail.
If you have not heard from us within four weeks of Step 2, please call our
