A leading corporate donor
The
Imperial Oil Charitable Foundation is one of Canada’s major corporate
donors, with a special emphasis on children and education. Through the Esso
Kids Program, we support numerous initiatives in education, the arts and
community service to enrich the lives of young Canadians.
A strong link with hockey at every level
Esso has been associated
with Canadian hockey since 1936, when we began sponsoring Hockey Night in
Canada radio broadcasts. Since then, we have been involved in
hockey from the grassroots level up to the major leagues.
Esso is a proud sponsor of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Hockey Hall of Fame in
Toronto and the Canadian Hockey Association – the governing body of minor
hockey in Canada including the Canadian Women’s National Team and Canada’s
National Men’s and Women’s Teams. Through the Esso Sweaters program, customers
can donate their Esso Extra
points to their local minor hockey association for the purchase of hockey
jerseys.
The well-known
Esso Medals of Achievement program provides Esso Retailers with a unique
opportunity to recognize young people’s participation and success in minor
hockey, while raising their own profile in the community.
Local community support
Through the Esso Community Program,
Imperial Oil may provide matching funds to Esso Retailers in support of
approved local initiatives that help make a difference in the community. This
